The two-part premiere episodes of HBO’s Girls will be uploaded on YouTube, just 12 hours after its TV debut. WTF is this? We’re not complaining — this is actually amazing news for fans of the show, especially those without a HBO subscription who do not like to partake in illegal online activities. It’s just that we’re not used to networks being so, you know, relevant. Lena Dunham’s show recently got on board with Snapchat; sending cute and non-sensical emoji messages to their followers just because — and now this. Feeling spoiled.
As HBO’s Vice President of Social Media and Marketing, Sabrina Caluori, said, “For us, this is an increasingly challenging demographic to reach with traditional means, adding that the HBO team decided to be “social first” when it came toGirls announcements. You guys are so good to us!
